Part of the hop-on-hop-off bus experience included a ride on the adorable mini train that takes visitors around the peninsula. My kids were thrilled with the train ride, which added an extra layer of excitement to our visit.
The Peninsula of Magdalena is home to a charming mini zoo, where we saw penguins and sea lions. The kids were absolutely captivated! I had a dish of perfectly scrambled eggs, mixed with mushrooms and bacon, served alongside warm bread rolls. It was simple yet absolutely delicious, highlighting the fresh and flavourful ingredients that make Spanish cuisine so special.

With a few hours left before our cruise ship departed, I ventured out on my own to explore more of Santander. One of my must-see stops was the Monumento a Los Raqueros, a set of sculptures along Santander Bay that tell an important story.

Nearby, I also discovered a large outdoor seating area with a giant screen, possibly an outdoor cinema. It was such a unique feature, and I couldn’t help but wish we had something similar back home.
